Looking at Tactile paving

Image
Tactile paving was invented in the 1960s by Seiichi Miyake, an inventor in Japan. The paving was inspired by braille, the language which some visually impaired people use to read. It consists of raised dots and lines, each with different variations which mean different things to the user. The idea of tactical paving is to alert or guide users to keep them safe.  Within the department of transportation for the UK there is guidance on tactile paving, this primarily focuses on colour and the role it plays in guiding people. There is a need for high contrast colours when using tactile paving as this is shown to aid people with partially sighted vision. The two main colours are buff and red. Buff colouring is used to show an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing, and red is used for a controlled pedestrian crossing.

Brick bonds

We were asked to research the different kinds of bonds and then find different examples of these bonds. These are some of the ones I have found.
