Kandinsky

I have been looking into Kandinsky's work recently; his work is quite inspiring to me regarding patterns and how free-flowing it feels. I tried to make my own inspired quick pieces using different mediums (oil pastels and markers) to see how the patterns varied dependent on colours and textures. I prefer the oil as it feels much more raw and organic than the marker, which feels quite placed.

I feel like taking these patterns and using them for design could be a really interesting experiment that I may try.

  For St Aidans our brief has been to research the Seven Sacred Spaces. Each space has a different meaning, we need to make a garden based around these 7 spaces. After researching different bible verses there was one which really stood out to me about lilies which effectively said if god can take care of lilies he will take care of you. Therefore I believe within the st aidens design the base of it will be a lily as they have 6-7 petals.

Budget for Tatton

  A budget was created in order to show how we would spend the £750 if we were to be chosen for Tatton Park. The money would be stretched relatively thin and therefore we would probably need additional funding, especially for the plants which we will be using.

Final zoning Diagram

  I have created a functional diagram for the site, this will allow for me to create a more detailed masterplan. I have sectioned each area around a central point, which will be a meeting point for users. The site will have many nods to butterflies, which is my concept. The play areas will be really colourful and hopefully give some more character to the site.
